Climate

The climate in Jackson County is considered moderate.

Summertime highs average around 94 degrees with lows in the lower 70's. Residents enjoy the autumn months with slightly cooler temperatures and an array of colorful foliage. Temperatures range from the 50's and 60's for highs and 30's to 40's for lows.

January is the normally the coldest month of the year with highs averaging in the 40's and lows averaging in the mid 20's.

The vibrant colors of spring shoot forth as temperatures gently rise again to the 70's and 80's for daytime highs and fall to the 50's and 60's during the nighttime cooling.

Average precipitation for Jackson County is 55 inches of rain per year with August normally being the driest month.
Jackson County may experience a good snowfall upon occasion. But they are few are far between. Average snowfall ranges from a slight dusting in the valleys to a couple of inches per year in the higher elevations.
